Which Side of the Cloud…?

The Old Testament church in the wilderness, practiced sensitivity to the Spirit by being swift to move, to obey and to discern God’s move by observing the cloud. It does not matter where they were and what they were doing, as soon as the cloud of glory lifted and moved, they were done and movement begins. They learnt not to settle on their lees, nor be attached to their past, they practiced being led and promptly followed. Today its different as the Holy Spirit now lives in us, but the question remains how have we been responding? I mean Moses’ congregation was led through the wilderness by the pillar of cloud by day and the pillar of fire by night. [The cloud came] between the armies of Egypt and Israel. Throughout the night the cloud brought darkness to the one side and light to the other side… (Exod. 14:20, NIV).

The manifest Presence of God gave Israel “light by night.” Egypt lay behind them, Canaan was before them. The past and the future on either side as they journeyed. Canaan’s milk and honey beckoned them onward. The back side of that cloud was a place of darkness, and it represented their past, pointing back to Egypt. The front side of that same
cloud was flooded with light, and forecast their future, reaching forth to the land of overflowing abundance.

Which side of the cloud are you living on?
The past or the future?

The church in the wilderness during her voyage, enjoyed the cloud of glory by day and pillar of fire by night. There was a sharp difference and clear cut identity, the cloud separated them, behind was the darkness, Egypt and its appeal, before was Canaan and the summon. Today, we see an unholy mixture which shouldn’t be. One word or concept that clearly explains this mixture is biblical #Babylon (we continue this gist INNER CIRCLE Sessions Fortnightly this September in PHC NG to partake of it click this to get the address now)

The darkness and death of our trespasses and sinful past lay behind us. The tyranny of the god and prince of this world system was overwhelmed by the blood of the Passover Lamb (Ex. 12:13,23). We cannot return to the former things. We must press on to the place of His holy habitation. Before them fire devours, behind them a flame blazes. (Joel 2:3).

God’s great love for His elect has moved Him to burn up all the stuff that we have left behind, the cravings of sin and flesh support. Nothing remains for us to go back to.

Old friends, old habits, and all the familiar places have so changed that we do not have the strength or desire to retreat. We refuse to draw back in fear unto such destruction. We choose rather to draw near to Him with full assurance of faith (Heb. 10:19-22,38-39). The garlic, onions and cucumber of Egypt no longer appeals, the fleshly support has failed. We refuse that mixture of Babylon, and it’s slavery.

You see, Babylon is not just a city, it’s a system, a civilization with a culture and an agenda to invalidate #KingdomCulture. We live in the finest hour as kings and priests unto our God, to rebel against such, until the nation’s of this world become the Kingdom of our God and of His Christ. The priesthood is changing… (Isa 5:20, 42:16) we declare that Babylon is fallen!
Amen?!
